Revit Cloud Model Deprecation Audit for ACC and BIM 360

Find older Revit cloud models before they become a problem

Model Version Batch Audit helps BIM managers scan ACC and BIM 360 projects for Revit cloud model versions, so teams can identify which projects may need upgrade planning before Autodesk's deprecation changes take effect.

What is changing with Revit Cloud Models?

Autodesk has announced changes to how older Revit Cloud Models are accessed in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360. Firms that have hosted Revit models created in older Revit versions need to understand which projects still rely on those versions before access expectations change.

The policy issue is important, but for BIM managers the immediate operational problem is visibility: which ACC or BIM 360 projects actually contain older Revit cloud models?

Without a clear picture of your portfolio, it is difficult to plan upgrades, communicate risk to project teams, or prioritize review time. That is the problem this tool addresses.

The hard part is not one model. It is the project portfolio.

Checking a single ACC project manually is feasible. Checking dozens or hundreds of projects is a different problem entirely.

  • Manual checking requires opening each project, locating model files, and noting the version — one project at a time.
  • It is repetitive and time-consuming across a large portfolio.
  • Archived, dormant, or legacy projects are easy to overlook, even though they may carry the highest risk.
  • There is no native ACC or BIM 360 tool that gives a portfolio-level summary of Revit cloud model versions across selected projects.

What BIM managers should audit

A practical checklist for Revit cloud model version review across ACC and BIM 360:

  • Projects with older Revit cloud models that may be affected by deprecation
  • Models created in Revit versions that fall within the impacted range
  • Active projects still relying on cloud collaboration through older Revit versions
  • Dormant or archived projects that may require backup or export decisions before access changes
  • Projects that should be test-upgraded before any permanent upgrade decision
  • Models that need BIM manager review before access to older versions becomes restricted

How Model Version Batch Audit helps

Model Version Batch Audit connects through Autodesk sign-in, scans selected ACC or BIM 360 projects, and returns a batch view of Revit model versions across your chosen project portfolio.

  • Read-only scan — Accesses model metadata only. No project data is changed.
  • Batch view — Scans multiple projects at once and consolidates results in a single report.
  • Older Revit version identification — Surfaces which models use older Revit cloud model versions.
  • Upgrade planning support — Helps teams prioritize which projects to test, upgrade, archive, or document.
  • BIM manager review prioritization — Sorts and filters results to focus review time on the highest-risk projects.
  • Excel export — Export the full results as a spreadsheet for sharing and record-keeping.

Read-only by design

This tool is a discovery and reporting tool only. It does not take any action on your models or projects.

  • Does not upgrade Revit models
  • Does not change ACC or BIM 360 project data
  • Does not write back to Autodesk models
  • Does not collect Autodesk passwords — credentials are entered only on Autodesk's sign-in page
  • Uses Autodesk OAuth for authorization (read-only scopes only)
  • Does not replace a test upgrade process
  • Does not make irreversible upgrade decisions on your behalf

Who this is for

This tool is designed for the people responsible for managing Revit environments across ACC and BIM 360 project portfolios: BIM Managers, VDC Managers, Revit Leads, Architecture Firms, Engineering Firms, Owners with large ACC portfolios, and Teams preparing for Revit cloud model upgrade planning.

Start with visibility before upgrade decisions

Before deciding what to upgrade, archive, or test, identify which projects contain older Revit cloud models. The free tier covers up to 5 ACC projects at no charge.
